When sorry became just a word. It no longer means anything cause we say it so often. You don’t turn up, you say sorry. You offend someone, you say sorry. You hurt someone, you say sorry. You ignore someone, you say sorry.
Saying sorry is apparently enough to move on. But when you say that sorry, you don’t realize that you need to do more than just say it. You have to mean it as well as act it. You have to avoid situations where shit could go down and avoid the whole saying “sorry”.
These days actions speak louder than words. It’s so easy to say things than do things. We say plenty we don’t actually mean. We even made sorry as nonchalant as saying oops. That weight is gone into the thin air. We don’t have a word stronger than sorry. If you are sorry, then do something about it rather than saying it over and over again.
It’s about being careful of your actions. Your actions that mean nothing to you could mean everything to someone else. They are not the same person as you are. They don’t think like you. They don’t process things like you do. We think we can get away with anything by just saying sorry but the bigger picture here is that we are devaluing ourselves.
You have to apologize with a plan ready to act on. If you do something that hurt someone, you need to be ready to bear the consequences as well as ready to act on it by correcting that mistake. Make sure to not do that action again and keep it mind. Think when you are apologizing too. Don’t be that idiot who says that they have gotten busy, stressed, forgot about you cause that person too is stressed, busy, and still making an effort to keep shit together.
