For those of you in Boston, know that the weather is a little weird. There is barely any snow and Boston can’t seem to decide what to put us through. It’s not winter. Today it snowed finally! I love snow so it made me happy which is something that has been hard for me to do truly since I’ve come back.
The winter depressed blues are shadowing and lurking over us to a certain extent. Which is why today, I will share with you little things I do to make myself compassionate towards myself and help me feel positive in this bipolar weather!
Little Things List:
- Try a new cafe! (If you are in Boston, try the George Howell’s Cafe and see if you can get the Passion Fruit Tart)
- Sing out to soulful albums and just sway under fairy lights (I’m singing out to Celine Dion’s My Love Essential Collection)
- Go on a walk alone with music on shuffle through the city
- Sit somewhere new or old with your phone turned off and just observe what’s around you
- Snuggle in bed with some netflix (Currently watching Saint Clarita Diet)
- Order in from some place that reminds you of home or some place that brings happy memories (I ordered Venezuelan Food to remember my childhood there)
- Write things out on your blog, diary, or write for someone (I write for SEI- Social Enterprise Institute and this blog)
- Hang out with someone who makes you happy and brings comfort to you or Facetime them if they are too far
- Talk with someone if you want to unload your problems, stress or anything and be sure to involve tubs of ice cream
- Call your parents or text you best friends
- Video Chat people who make you laugh (my two cousins make me laugh till I die of laughter)
These are just some things I like to do if I am feeling unmotivated or low! If you have any suggestions, shoot a message cause I would love to try new ways to be lively. If you ever need to talk to me, call me up or text me 🙂 Please do.
Just remember to be nice to yourself. It’s hard, I know, but you have to cheer yourself on. You have to work hard to keep yourself happy especially when it is easier to be sad or depressed. Push yourself.

Make a list of things that make you happy and go do them! Trust me, it will be worth it. Make time in your busy schedule even if it’s for 5 minutes.
