For those of you who know me, know that I would live on a plane for the rest of my life. That is if I could. Sadly, I can’t. However this summer I am fortunate enough to be sitting on a plane 13 times. I probably did a happy dance in my head every time I boarded the plane because let’s get one thing straight, I frigging love planes! I could talk about them all day.
I have been traveling in a plane since I was merely a 11 months old baby and now I am almost 21 years old. So do the math and understand my obsession. People who know me, also know that I go to the airport weirdly early so that I can secretly admire the planes and have a little fangirl moment. I’ve been called out on it, for being annoying about running to the airport early hehe.
So I made a post on how to Travel like a Pro (I think I have earned that title). So here goes!
- If you can, try to do online check-in. Most airlines have a separate line where you can collect your boarding pass and drop your bags. Also you might be lucky enough to pick your seat (I always go for aisle).
- Carry a reasonable amount of money in cash form so that you can avoid the hassle of finding an ATM and instantly exchange currencies (imp. for us international kids).
- Always use the bathroom before landing and taking off. The air pressure likes to do funny things to our bodies.
- Girls: Don’t put makeup on when you are flying long hours. Instead when you land at the arriving airport, make a quick stop at the bathroom and touch-up and Voila! trick people like celebrities do when you arrive.
- Walk around the airport as much as you can and in flight so that your knees don’t kill you when you land and you have to wobble your way home.
- Always create a mini first aid kit for yourself in case you feel a little queasy. I like to keep everything from head to toe in terms of meds fixer.
- Keep your carry-ons light, don’t be that idiot trudging along the airport and almost killing yourself when you put it in the overhead bins.
- Always keep multiple forms of your important documents. Keep an e-copy on your phone, ipad, tablets, laptops and hard copies for your backpack. Screenshots in case the Wi-Fi isn’t on your side.
- Comfortable footwear! I personally love these shoes for traveling and I will wear them always. The cushion in them do wonders!

Don’t hoard because I can tell you with 100% guarantee that you won’t need half of them.
